                             Male film noir-  male character conventions

• Humphrey Bogart, was a famous film noir actor. His trademark persona , was that of a  tough, cynical man , who ultimatley in the end of the story shows his noble side. He famously plays Not very gentlemanly men, in his films. Its this kind of tough, rough around the edges man , who is not perfect and has weakness' that is a convention for a male lead in film noir. Another convention is being much older than their female companions.
